Manager Research
all members of our manager research team have over ten years of investment experience.
We have previously communicated that Sanlam Investment Management (SIM) has acquired Absa Asset Management. This acquisition will lead to several funds being merged and moved from Absa Fund Managers (AFM) to Sanlam Collective Investments (SCI).
This transition has been in progress for over a year since the acquisition was finalised on 1 December 2022 and we have received communication that the Absa Global Value Feeder Fund is going to move from AFM to SCI on 25 March 2024. The Absa Global Value Feeder Fund is a Rand-based feeder fund that invests in the Schroders ISF Global Recovery Fund.
The transition will happen in the background with no action required by current investors. Investors will remain in the same fee class and should only experience a name change to “Sanlam Schroders Global Value Feeder Fund”. It is also important to note that the track record will be maintained and is not affected by the management company change.
There is no change to the way the fund is managed or the underlying fund manager.
The name change is simply a reflection of the fund being transferred from Absa Fund Managers to Sanlam Collective Investments due to the merger and we do not anticipate any impact to current investors in the fund and maintain the Tier 2 rating on the fund.
