We have recently completed our review of the Sentio SCI Hikma Shariah Balanced fund and Sentio SCI Hikma Shariah General Equity fund and have maintained our Tier 3 ratings. Although Sentio’s independent business creates long term alignment between the investors and the investment team, there are elements of the business that we remain cautious on.

In addition, we continue to believe that Sentio’s investment process and philosophy are not fully established and as a result we are not yet confident that the funds can deliver consistent active returns for clients.

Although we find evidence of stability in the investment team and a relatively strong culture within the business, when we consider all the factors that make up the rating view, we believe that maintaining the current ratings is most appropriate.
