We have recently completed our review of the iShares Global Government Bond Fund.

We have assigned the fund a Tier 1 rating on the basis that it is a simple, cheap and well managed passive global government bond fund that tracks the FTSE World Government Bond index. The iShares team is well resourced and experienced, which is enhanced by the quality of risk management systems they have implemented and refined over time. We are confident in the tracking ability of iShares, particularly as that ability is applied to this fund. Ultimately, this provides us with comfort that investors in the fund receive returns that appropriately track the underlying index. Lastly, the investment management fee on this fund is competitive and further adds to the fund’s investment merit.
