Coronation have announced changes to the fees charged on the platform class for three of their local funds. These will take effect from 1 April 2021.
The first two changes relate to their low risk multi-asset funds. The changes are summarised in the table below.
Fund Name | Old Fee (ex VAT) |
New Fee (ex VAT) |
Coronation Capital Plus Fund | 0.85% | 0.75% |
Coronation Balanced Defensive Fund | 0.85% | 0.75% |
The fee reductions are significant, and help to align the pricing between Coronation’s single and multi-asset portfolios. Coronation has been a leader in passing on fund fee reductions to investors, and this is a further example.
The final change is a 12-month discount on the fee charged for the platform class (P Class) of the Coronation Strategic Income Fund. This results in a reduction in the fee from 0.45% to 0.35% ex VAT. This change has been made in light of current low interest rates in South Africa. Coronation believe that the fee reduction will assist investors to get closer to their return targets. This also serves to reinforce the client centric behaviour which Coronation is demonstrating, given the existing competitive level of the fund fee.
