Perpetua announced significant changes to the fees they charge on their funds. The change comprises two elements:
- Performance fees across all their retail funds were removed when the funds changed manco’s from MetCI to SCI in November 2017. The balanced fund charged a 15% performance fee over a composite benchmark and the equity fund charged a 20% fee for outperforming SWIX.
- The annual management fees on the A class funds will be reduced dramatically early in 2018. The A class fee on the balanced fund will be reduced from 1.1% to 0.65% and from 1.1% to 0.75% on the equity fund.
- All other fee classes will then be merged into the retail A class, which will be made available on platforms. Going forward, only the A class will therefore be on offer to retail investors.
The reduction in annual management fees and removal of the performance fee component is a major benefit to investors and it is encouraging to see a fund manager take meaningful steps to reduce the overall cost to clients.
