At the start of 2014, Louis Stassen moved from being responsible for the absolute return strategies at Coronation to start the process of building a Global Equity team and track record. Charles de Kock has taken over the management of the Coronation Capital Plus Fund, in addition to continuing to manage the Coronation Balanced Defensive Fund. Charles has an excellent track record of managing funds that require a similar skill set to that of the Coronation Capital Plus Fund, and we are comfortable with the change in portfolio manager. In addition, Henk Groenewald who used to co-manage the fund with Louis Stassen continues to assist Charles, ensuring a degree of continuity. We have been monitoring any changes to the way in which the fund is managed since the change, given that Charles and Louis have slightly different approaches to portfolio management, but the fund continues to be well managed and in line with philosophy. While any change in portfolio manager is clearly material for a fund, we are comfortable that the fund should retain its Tier 1 rating.
