Manager Research
all members of our manager research team have over ten years of investment experience.
Prescient have recently announced a number of changes to their investment team. While the changes appear to be material, in reality there is little to no change in the investment management of portfolios. All key individuals remain with the same portfolio management responsibilities as before.
We highlight roles changes for specific individuals below:
Name | Previous Role | New Role | Fund Involvement |
Guy Toms | CIO | Strategist | All Fixed Income Funds |
Bastian Teichgreeber | Head of asset allocation | CIO | All Multi-Asset Funds |
Reza Ismail | Analyst | Head of Bonds | Bond Fund |
Henk Kotze | Analyst | Head of Income and Cash | Income Funds |
Conway Williams | N/a | Head of Credit | Income Funds |
The change in CIO from Guy to Bastian is positive for both the individuals in question and the overall team. We are confident that Bastian possesses the required skill-set to be a successful CIO. This change also allows Guy to focus on investments rather than overall team management. He took on the CIO position in a caretaker capacity, so this is a natural change in role now that Bastian has gained sufficient experience within the business, including his development of the multi-asset fund processes. There has been a strong indication from Prescient that Guy will remain the key individual for the Income investment process. In addition, he will continue to be involved in the day to day management of the Prescient Income Provider Fund.
Conway Williams is joining Prescient from Futuregrowth, where he was head of unlisted credit for a number of years. His experience and expertise will be invaluable for Prescient. He will soon be joined by Michelle Green who has worked with Conway as a credit analyst at Futuregrowth. Prescient do appear to be venturing further into the more specialist credit areas such as green energy, and this appointment will be supportive of this.
These team changes are positive for Prescient. The business has shown improved stability and an ability to attract talent in recent years. We have retained all current ratings on Prescient funds.
