Manager Research
all members of our manager research team have over ten years of investment experience.
Prudential informed us that Rehana Khan has resigned and will be leaving the business at the end of October. Rehana has been with Prudential since 2008, starting out as a portfolio manager assistant, before progressing to an analyst and a portfolio manager later on. In 2018 she was promoted to Head of Equity Research, in addition to being a co-portfolio manager on the Prudential Dividend Maximiser and Prudential Core Value funds. Rehana has also been instrumental in developing the research capacity of Prudential’s junior analysts, and her loss will have an impact on the team.
Prudential has a broad and experienced equities team under the direction of Johny Lambridis, and we are comfortable that they retain adequate coverage of the local equity universe (given offshore equities are managed out of M&G in London). However, Rehana is the second senior equity professional to leave Prudential this year, after Craig Butters took a three-year sabbatical in March, so there certainly is an impact on the aggregate experience and institutional knowledge in the team.
We are spending more time with Prudential over the next two weeks to cover the changes in more detail.
Rehana is moving over to Investec and has been offered a position in the 4Factor SA team, which is co-managed by Chris Freund and Hannes van den Bergh. The team is responsible for the Investec Equity fund, Investec’s institutional multi-asset funds and are sub-advisors on the Discovery multi-asset funds. She starts in January 2020.
