Coronation has recently notified clients of its intention to change administrators from Maitland Fund Services to JP Morgan, with a number of services being converted inhouse.  JP Morgan is their current administrator for global assets and they are looking to align with a global provider to fit their long term business plans.  Stanlib has also decided to cancel a planned conversion to Maitland which has been underway for a number of years.

These are significant events for an administrator and we are applying ourselves to the potential impact on Maitland clients.  In particular Maitland has been successful at attracting smaller managers due to their end to end servicing model.  These smaller managers are most vulnerable to any sort of operational upheaval.  We will be engaging with all fund managers we cover who rely on Maitland for their fund administration services to test their operational controls during this time of uncertainty.
